About Our Chloe Toes Fantastic Fit Diapers

Chloe Toes diapers were designed especially for our daughter Chloe.  Chloe is our fourth child, but our first child to be completely cloth diapered.  Oh, how we wish we had discovered cloth diapering sooner!  Cloth is easier than we ever expected and is so much better for baby and environment.  And diaper sewing is so much fun, it can be quite addicting!  We have been so pleased with our diapers and have received so much positive feedback from friends who've tried them, that ultimately we decided to open this store to bring them to you.  We have a full stock of ready-made diapers, plus our diaper pattern in seven sizes for you to make your own.  And we think you'll love them as much as we do.

So, what makes Chloe Toes diapers special?  We think it's the fit.  Our diapers have a unique contoured waistline that is not found in other cloth diapers.  The front of the diaper is scooped out for an "under-belly" fit which is very trim (fits under most clothing) and makes newborn "umbilical cutouts" unnecessary.  Instead of fastening around the baby's rounded belly, Chloe Toes diapers snap securely across the hips below the belly, which helps prevent them from sagging.  The snap sockets are set at an angle which both improves fit and allows the rise to "grow" with baby as you move up to larger snap settings.  Attractive narrow snap tabs have two snaps spaced widely to provide security and prevent "wing droop".  The narrow wings also allow for a less restrictive fit through hip and thigh which is more comfortable for active, crawling, walking babies.  And, while the front of the diaper has a "low-rise" fit, the back waist curves upward again to provide full coverage of baby's bottom and full protection against accidents.  We also think the foldover elastic bindings provide a very attractive finish.

Our ready-made diapers come in a number of different styles and materials for you to choose from.  We sell fitted diapers, true all-in-one diapers and pocket all-in-one diapers.  Our diapers are made using a wide variety of materials in different combinations.  Item descriptions will contain the specific details.  We strive to use only high quality materials such as Malden Mills fleeces and Power Dry wicking fabrics, Alova suedecloth, PUL fabrics processed by Fabrite Co, quality 100% cotton flannels and knit fabrics by Carters, OshKosh, Healthtex, Nick and Nora, Painting Red Rhinos, Wondies, and more.  Our absorbent fabrics will have at least 80% cotton content (some sherpas and terry cloth knits will have polyester in the backing).  We also use hemp and cotton blends and some specialty fabrics such as organic velour and bamboo and cotton blends.  Custom diapers are available on a limited basis, allowing you to choose your favorite combinations.  All fabrics and FOE are prewashed and preshrunk at least once (some fabrics may be prewashed up to three times) prior to cutting, to remove sizing, shop dirt and pretreatments and to ensure that finished diapers will not shrink or distort in the wash.  AIO diapers are treated with durable water repellent spray after construction, to help prevent wicking.

Our diaper pattern provides the same fantastic fit as our in-stock diapers.  The pattern includes seven sizes, ranging from premie to extra-extra-large.  This is the widest size range available in diaper patterns.  Instructions are provided for sewing all styles of diaper, including fitted, true AIO, pocket AIO and swim diapers.  Instructions include information on fabric selection, diaper washing and care, and optional waterproofing. 

The Chloe Toes pattern was specifically designed to utilize foldover elastic (FOE) to both bind and elasticize the diapers in one single step.  Diaper construction using FOE is very fast, efficient and simple.  There is no elastic to sew on separately, no stretching partially gathered pieces of fabric to try to match edges, no seam allowances to trim, no turning and topstitching, no hand-sewing openings closed.  The construction process is very streamlined, so that an experienced seamstress can easily sew up any of our diaper styles in a half hour or less.  And even a novice can learn to make them.  No special equipment or serger is needed either.  Chloe Toes diapers are constructed entirely on an ordinary sewing machine.  We think you will love making and using your own Chloe Toes diapers as much as we do.
